Salt the Holly was first posted on October 8, 2007 on Drunk Duck where it is still posted and maintained today. The characters and stories are original creations of Amanda Harpold. Jessica Riojas joined the Salt project in January 2008 and has been a part of the artwork and writing ever since. In 2008, Salt the Holly was nominated for Best Adventure and Most Improved comics in the Drunk Duck Awards. Amanda was nominated for Friendliest DrunkDucker.

In General: Amanda and Jessica have been best friends since they were in third grade (1992-3)!
They're also both vegetarians and completely awesome.

Specifically About Amanda Harpold:
Age: 26
Job: Office girl by day, Master Chef/Secret Agent/Blues Vixen by night.
Pets: Tragically none. My home is empty. *cries alone*
Top Three Favorite Things to Do: Dance, draw, and make dinosaur noises. Preferably all at the same time!
Favorite Salt Character: Lia ^.^ She's so much fun to write.
Most Prominent Feature: My Boobs of Eternal Warmth. For the record, I had "my giant freckled feet" here, but Jess insisted I change it.
Favorite Book: "House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski. A difficult book to recommend, given its nature, but well worth the read!
Most Often Used Scent: Black Raspberry Vanilla from Bath & Body Works. Jess says I'll attract guys who really love Kool-Aid.
Super Power: Losing things. This is why Jess and I make such a great team - she finds whatever it is I have managed to lose! (Except my dignity - we're still looking for that.)
Random Tidbit: I don't like condiments. At all. You would be appalled at my dry sandwiches.

Job: I'm a barista (a girl who makes coffee) at a coffee shop downtown. Other job: college student.
Pets: I own two cats: Fluffy Kitty (the inspiration for Cat Face) and Stimpy (my pirate cat).
Favorite Phrase: Never count your chickens.
Favorite Salt Character: Daisy. Seriously... *cough* She's designed after me, and I guess I'm just awesome. *cough*
Most Prominent Feature: I would like to think people are looking at my eyes, but I'm sure it's more like my legs or something.
Favorite Book: George R.R. Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire." I love them all and I want, nay, NEED him to finish the series!
Most Often Used Scent: Marc Jacobs. The original. Ironically, not his scent called Daisy.
Super Power: Finding things!
Random Tidbit: My right foot is two sizes smaller than my left foot and that makes it suck when buying shoes.
