Some Reasons Why My Life is Awesome

1. Google has a new feature where you can customize the look of your inbox for GMail now. My inbox is now adorable.

2. Jess and I were talking about the reasons why I don't wear makeup ever - specifically mascara. She said that I laugh until I cry pretty often ^.^ It's true! I have hilarious friends!

3. I have recovered from a yucky case of strep throat (which I shared with some of my coworkers). Now I need to send recovery vibes to Jess who got waylaid with some illness or another right before an awesome night of...

4. ...blues dancing! A lot of people ask what that is, exactly. Here's a fun picture I found from the Portland Blues group. They also have YouTube instructional videos that are lovely if you feel industrious.

Obama Takes the Presidency!

The beginning of the acceptance speech:

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen, by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different, that their voices could be that difference.

It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled. Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of red states and blue states.

We are, and always will be, the United States of America.

It's the answer that led those who've been told for so long by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment change has come to America.

He's a phenomenal public speaker. I believe he's also a good man. I'm proud that he's my President. ^.^

What a Bad Idea

Okay, confession time: I'm 26, and I've never been to Las Vegas. Well, we drove through it once or twice when I was little, but I've never had the "Vegas experience."

Therefore, if this is common knowledge, I totally apologize - I just found out today. There's a hotel called the Stratosphere which apparently has amusement park rides on the TOP! A notable one being Insanity:

The blurb from the website says, "guests dangle 900 feet in the air over the edge of the tower before being spun at the speed of 3 Gs." Seriously, what a BAD IDEA.
